Version 16.A01 of the PAI/O Driver for z/OS was shipped on October 30th, 2007. This new release provides a variety of new features and enhancements that substantially increase the ease of use of the PAI/O Driver for z/OS and the data it collects. The new program features and enhancements include:

users may now receive their initial product shipments and updates via FTP,
the minimum operating system level for the execution of the PAI/O Driver for
z/OS
is z/OS 1.6,
Technical Note 0710: Using Desktop SAS for Analysis and Reporting has been
introduced to discuss how to perform the BUILDPDB and REPORT processes using
The SAS System for Windows,
the discussion of system managed storage considerations has been updated to expand support for user specified storage classes and extended format datasets,
support has been added to simulate non-extended format VSAM data sets,

the CPENABLE values employed by the z/OS image have been added to the CPU Environment Report,

the logfile record has been updated to provide 3 rather than 2 byte maximum response time values,
a loop option has been added to NUMB-DDS control statement. This option allows the user to loop through an entire experiment,
the I/O priority range specified on the EXPERMNT control statement has been changed from 1-255 to 240-255 to correspond to the range supported by the WLM,
message IODR108I has been updated to add new statistics for VSAM data sets,
task work areas now reside in real storage above the 16 MB line,
a new feature called the track heap size option has been added to facilitate asynchronous remote copy experiments,
execution under z/OS Release 9 is now recognized, and
support for SAS 9.1 and MXG 25.06.

This release also provides a significantly enhanced version of the profiling software. The new program features and enhancements include:

a HyperPAV Analysis Report has been added to the GENERATR process for analyzing, planning, and managing traditional PAV to HyperPAV conversions,
the NCYLS control statement has been enhanced to allow the specification of either total or per exposure cylinder allocations for tests that employ multiple exposure datasets, and
the track heap option is now employed as the default for tests generated with the SAS profiling software to facilitate the testing asynchronous remote copy schemas.
